Pike as a food source

I'm an avid Pike angler and after reading so many times about the valuable eating properties of the Waterwolf I decided I had to know for myself how palatable it actually was, so on goes a perch creek chub pikie and a half hour later there was a nice 5lb Jack lying on the bank

A quick bit of work with an Enzo filleter resulted in some lovely looking white pike steaks

Quickly fried up and tasted..ah the texture of bones in very single muddy mouthful, between your teeth and threatening to get stuck in your throat, so the end result?? Stick with Trout and give pike a very wide birth and leave them deep in the depths were they belong!

A collection of Firesteels or Strike-a-lights

These are a few of my Fire steels, these particular ones are all made by Launditch1 on BCUK, they are by far the best sparkers I've used from any maker.

Bone and Antler arrowheads

These are my favourite things to make, I just love working with bone and antler and although people often complain about the smell, I actually quite like it. I love coming up with different designs from harpoon heads to arrow heads, I think I'll try some fish hooks next..These are all made with a dremel, just takes too long trying to abrade with a piece of flint, athough I have made Bone needles that way..
